Forge 301 – Helmet Mount FAQ

? What helmet do I need?

Our mounts are designed to work with standard bump or ballistic helmets that use a front NVG shroud.

Look for:

  • A helmet with a Wilcox-style NVG shroud

  • Side rails are optional but common

  • Bump helmets are most popular for hunting & SAR

Common compatible helmet styles:

  • High-cut bump helmets

  • Tactical bump helmets with 3-hole NVG shroud

If your helmet accepts a Wilcox G24-style mount, you’re good to go.

? What else do I need to make this work?

Your full setup requires 5 components:

  1. Helmet with NVG shroud    (https://a.co/d/04MtJiUi) Budget helmet with decent headgear

  2. Wilcox G24 NVG  dovetail style mount  (https://a.co/d/00Ik77li)  This mount has the best lockup and a adjustable dovetail we have tested so far

  3. NVG bridge (unless the mount is direct to NVG Mount)

  4. Forge 301 thermal adapter

  5. Your thermal monocular

Our product replaces the traditional J-arm — it connects your thermal to a bridge system.

? Is this left-eye or right-eye specific?

Some mounts are reversable, unless stated otherwise

They can be configured for:

  • Left eye

  • Right eye

Simply rotate the bridge or adapter orientation during installation.

? What bridge do I need?

You need a standard dovetail NVG bridge that accepts dual dovetail devices.

Examples:

  • Panobridge-style bridges

  • Dual dovetail bridges

Your bridge must accept a standard dovetail shoe.

? Is this only for hunting?

No.

While popular for:

  • Predator hunting

  • Hog hunting

These systems are also used in:

  • Search and Rescue

  • Disaster response

  • Property and livestock monitoring

  • Law enforcement applications

? What material are your mounts made from?

Our mounts are 3D printed using PET Carbon Fiber (PET-CF) for strength, durability, and temperature resistance.

They are:

  • Lightweight

  • Rigid

  • Impact resistant

  • Designed for real-world field use

⚙️ Does this require assembly?

No.

Each mount comes ready to install. Simply attach it to your bridge and lock into your G24 mount. Some adjustment will be required for each fit.
