Forge 301 provides local and mobile 3D scanning throughout Cartersville, Northwest Georgia, and the north metro Atlanta area.
We capture automotive and UTV mounting areas, engine bays, tools, industrial equipment, replacement parts, and existing components for fitment, fabrication, product development, or digital reference.
Scan-only projects are welcome. Standard deliverables include a scaled and aligned STL, OBJ, or PLY mesh with basic cleanup.
Simple CAD modeling and reverse engineering may be available after the project is reviewed. Complex engineering and open-ended product-development work are quoted separately.
Our Process
1. Project Review
Send photos, approximate dimensions, surface finish, location, and a description of how the scan will be used. This lets us determine the required scan area, preparation, file format, and estimated cost.
2. 3D Scanning
The part or surrounding area is captured using a handheld 3D scanner. Dark, glossy, reflective, or transparent surfaces may require removable scanning spray and tracking markers.
3. Mesh Processing
Scan data is aligned, scaled, cleaned, and oriented for the intended application. Standard files include STL, OBJ, or PLY.
4. Optional CAD Work
Straightforward CAD conversion or reverse engineering may be available after review. Editable STEP files, parametric CAD, manufacturing drawings, redesign, and engineering are not included in the standard scan price.

- Small handheld parts: $100+
- Small vehicle mounting areas: $150+
- Areas up to approximately 36" × 36": $200–$250+
- Large vehicle or UTV sections: $300+
- Complete engine bays or multiple connected areas: $400+
- Mobile scanning: $250 minimum within 20 miles of Cartersville
- Additional travel: $1.25 per mile round trip
Final pricing depends on size, accessibility, surface finish, required detail, preparation, and cleanup.
What Standard Scanning Does Not Include
3D scanning captures the existing geometry of a part or area. It does not automatically include:
- Editable or parametric CAD
- STEP files
- Manufacturing drawings
- Engineering or structural validation
- Product redesign
- 3D printing or manufacturing
- Unlimited revisions
Simple CAD work may be quoted separately. Manufacturing may be sourced separately when appropriate.
